ced-network
Community Economic Development in Developed Countries

 Volver a la Lista

The Community Economic Development Centre at Simon Fraser University administers ced-network, an unmoderated discussion list for anyone interested in trends, opportunities and changes in community economic development. The focus will be on what communities can do for themselves in terms of achieving access to knowledge, programs, markets, and funds. This means how we can understand the pattern of top-down and macro-economic and social planning, and how disadvantages can be overcome. Some examples of relevant topics for ced-network are:

  • information sharing;
  • developing appropriate training programs and tools for development;
  • what makes communities most likely to succeed;
  • what makes communities most likely to fail;
  • innovative technologies and local development;
  • community computer networking;
  • the role of government policies and programs in local development.
