| Different Voices is a group based in the UK which works to promote cross-cultural understanding, especially through greater access to the media. The Different Voices e-mail list is an open, unmoderated forum for information exchange and discussion:
- to promote media access for under-represented groups,
including ethnic minorities, refugees and migrants,
voluntary organisations, women, children and young people.
- to promote recognition of achievements in Britain, Europe
and the developing world, especially of: small-scale,
community-led projects, projects using volunteers, projects
which aim to foster cross-cultural understanding
- to generally promote greater cross-cultural understanding
between "the West" and the developing world.
- to help bridge the
growing gap between the information rich and the information poor
The list is open to anyone and may be of particular interest to:
- organisations and individuals running projects, seminars
or events relating to development, equal opportunities,
education and volunteering
- organisations and individuals working in, training for
or wanting to use the media
